Read ‘Open-Source Everything Manifesto’ for FREE

by Kat Engh

As a non-profit (and a publisher with integrity), it’s important for us at NAB to “walk the walk” as often as possible, but when author Robert David Steele first asked us to put his entire book, The Open-Source Everything Manifesto, online for free, I must admit, an eyebrow raised. It’s not a traditional business practice to give your whole product away, but the more we thought about it, the more we realized that we couldn’t not do this.
NAB has been in a constant state of evolution over the past few years (and, arguably, since its founding in the 1970’s, when it started as a college literary journal in New England), and North Atlantic Books is another big piece of that puzzle. As a non-profit, the word “transformation” is even the central part of our mission statement! We’ve created a space where fans can connect with their favorite authors and like-minded peers for meaningful discussions without any regard for geography, and offering content that sparks a meaningful dialogue is certainly an important part of continuing to build those connections and community.

Steele’s idea, to put his entire book online for free so that anyone may read and absorb his vision, aligns with our mission to put books out into the world that help spark and fuel a worldwide transformation.

So, with all of that in mind, we’re offering downloadable PDFs of every chapter of Steele’s revolutionary book. We just encourage you to share your reflections in the comments section of this post.
